Why this exists

Most psychology online is either exciting and wrong, or accurate and abandoned by week three. You come away more confident and less accurate. This is the third thing: the real subject, taught properly, with every claim graded.

Body-language tricks, “7 signs of a narcissist”, the 7-38-55 rule. Some of it is wrong, some of it is half-right, and you have no way to tell which. So you carry all of it.

The evidence labels

Every important claim carries one.

Strong

Multiple high-quality studies, meta-analyses, or successful replications. Rely on it — still ask about context and effect size.

Moderate

Reasonably supported, with real limitations: small effects, narrow contexts, correlational. A working assumption, not a law.

Emerging

Interesting evidence exists; conclusions are still developing. Be curious. Don’t build on it yet.

Contested

Findings are inconsistent, replications have failed, or the field is arguing. Know both sides. Never state it as fact.

Popular / Weak

Widely repeated, poorly supported. Recognise it — this is where most “psychology facts” live.

Some of the most famous findings in psychology are taught here as contested, with the modern re-evaluations named. If you can grade evidence, you are protected from every myth that hasn’t been invented yet.

How long it takes

About a hundred hours. At your pace.

A full lesson takes 80 to 90 minutes with the case, the exercise and the check. There is no cohort clock. The Academy waits for you, and your progress follows you across every device.

The Certificate of Completion — Comprehensive Foundations of Psychology — is issued when you have completed at least 80% of lessons, hold a quiz average of 70% or more, have passed the Mastery Exam and have submitted your capstone. It carries a unique ID.

Along the way you earn five student levels: Foundations, Human Behaviour, Psychological Analysis, Advanced Psychology, and Psychology Scholar. Each one is unlocked by finishing the work, never by time spent.

Before you join.

Do I need any background in psychology?

No. Level 0 and Level 1 assume nothing. Every term is defined the first time it is used, and the dictionary is one click away from any word.

How much time does it take?

About a hundred hours in total. Most people do four to five hours a week and finish in five or six months. There is no deadline, and the Academy remembers exactly where you were.

Is it live? Are there set times?

No. Everything is on demand. There are eight short recorded videos, and every lesson can be read or listened to.

What is free?

Level 0, Orientation: the map of the field, how the Academy works, the evidence labels and the learning loop. Create an account and it is yours. Everything from Level 1 onward opens with membership.

Why do the levels go in order?

Because Level 1 teaches you how to read evidence, and every level after it is built on that. Inside a level you can move freely.

What about Level 4, mental health?

Level 4 teaches mental-health literacy: how conditions are understood, assessed and treated. It never trains anyone to diagnose, and it opens once a qualified clinician has signed it off. Until then it shows “Opening soon”. Everything else is open now.

Is this a professional qualification?

No. The certificate recognises completion of an educational programme. It is not a professional, clinical or licensing qualification. It is designed to change how you read people and evidence, not to qualify you to practise.

Does my progress save?
